Just finish reading a book by Alice Walker called Possessing the secret of joy.On my surprise she touched on the topic Female Circumcision in Kenya.I never thought about it becauce where I live it is only done by man.The way she explained how young girls were violently cut and some died,I felt angry and confuse.If this culture is still in practise I think they should stop it,becauce based on the reasons why they were doing it is not relevent.May be they no longer practise this coz the book was written long ago,if not it must be a choice that one has to make.Not that I'm looking down on other people's cultures but I'm concerned about young girls who are forced go to intiation schools.
